Kay Suzuki is a London-based Japanese producer and DJ. He moves across soul, jazz, funk, afro-beat, latin, house, broken beat, Detroit techno and related styles, and focuses on grooves rather than a fixed divide between electronic and live music.

He moves to London in 2004 and becomes closely involved in the city’s club scene. He begins releasing music through the BBC award-winning party and label Coopr8 (CO-OP), then issues remixes and original tracks on other labels as well as his own b i p o l a r imprint. He also runs b i p o l a r as a night, and the label is launched in Japan too, where he licenses two titles from Coopr8, including his own tunes and remixes.

His productions receive support from DJs including Theo Parrish, Osunlade, Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Bugz In The Attic, Karizma, IG Culture, Domu, Snowboy, Benji B, Kyoto Jazz Massive and Jazztronik. As a DJ, he is invited by promoters in Europe and Japan and is known for a broad selection that appeals to local music audiences.

He is described as a hard-working Japanese producer and DJ in London, with a background shaped by a family that loves music.
