Katie Buckhaven

Katie Buckhaven is a British singer-songwriter. She begins writing songs after first picking up a guitar at the age of seven, inspired by her parents’ record collection, which includes country, jazz and folk. Her work gains wider attention when BBC Radio 2 DJ Michael Parkinson plays her track “Lavender Eyes” on his Sunday morning show.

Performances and touring

Buckhaven performs regularly and appears with her band at London venues. She also supports Ben & Jason and Carina Round on the Acoustic Roadworks Tour. In Europe, she plays solo shows in bars in Paris, Seville and Berlin, where she performs original songs and covers in French, Spanish and Italian.

Style and collaborators

She performs with a group of musicians from different musical backgrounds. Their combined sound mixes blues, folk and jazz, with a Mediterranean influence and an element of French chanson. Her singing is associated with echoes of Tim Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy, while her voice is described as having the warmth of Norah Jones and the melancholy of Beth Gibbons.
