Brown first gains wider attention as the lead singer of Praxis, where she has a number one success. She later records under her own name and places US dance hits as a solo artist. In 1999, her track “Joy” reaches number four on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

In 2004, Brown is the credited lead vocalist on Soul Central’s “Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)”, a British release that samples Rhythm Is Rhythm’s 1989 house classic “Strings of Life”.
