Kasparov

Kasparov is a Dutch hardcore act from the Netherlands, associated with Bas Verheul and Bastiaan Oskam. It is identified with hardcore and related styles including gabber, hardstyle, darkcore and mainstream hardcore. Bas Verheul is described as a Dutch hardcore producer and DJ, and Kasparov is one of his artist names.

Background

Bas Verheul starts producing in 2006, after first becoming interested in synthesisers as a child. He hears his first synthesiser compilation at the age of six. He begins making music on a personal computer in 1995, although he does not make anything public at that stage. In 2005 he becomes more active, and his tracks begin to appear at parties and in clubs.

Style and activity

Under the Kasparov name, he mainly produces hardcore. His music gains popularity quickly within the dance community. He also works with Megarave Records, Asbest and Offensive Records, and is currently producing at Neophyte Records.
