KASMs
KASMs are a post-punk group from Dalston, United Kingdom. The band forms in late 2007 and is active from 2007 onwards. The line-up includes Rachel Mary Callaghan on vocals, Scott Walker on guitar and drums, Rory Brattwell, whose birth name is Attwell, on drums and guitar, and Gemma Fleet on bass guitar. The group is a quartet and is associated with post-punk and punk.
Career
KASMs sign to Trouble Records in early 2008. Their debut single, Taxidermy, comes out in July 2008 and reaches number 12 in the UK independent music chart. The band also releases a self-titled CD EP in March 2008, followed by the 7-inch singles Bone You in February 2009 and Male Bonding in May 2009. Their debut album, Spayed, appears in May 2009 on CD and 12-inch vinyl, and they also issue Tape EP on cassette in July 2009 and Absent Without Leave as a single in August 2009.
Media and live appearances
The group appears in UK music magazines including Artrocker and NME. Spayed receives an 8/10 rating from NME and a generally positive review. In August 2009, KASMs play the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
