Kaskade is the stage name of Ryan Raddon, an American DJ, record producer and remixer from Chicago. He is associated with electronic and house music, and his work also sits within deep house, dance and chillout.
Background
Raddon is born in 1971 and grows up in Evanston, Illinois. He studies at BYU in Provo before serving a church mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan. After returning to the United States, he transfers to the University of Utah and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, before later settling in Los Angeles.
Before becoming a full-time recording artist, he owns a record store and works as a club DJ in Salt Lake City to support himself and his wife. After moving to San Francisco, he takes a job in A&R at OM Records, where he reviews demos and also submits his own material.
Recording career
Kaskade begins releasing music as an artist in his own right in 2001. His first album, It’s You, It’s Me, appears in 2003 and is followed by In the Moment in 2004. The single Steppin’ Out from that album becomes a radio hit and reaches the top 10 of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His follow-up release, Everything, reaches number one on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

He is a member of the projects Kx5 and Members Only, and is associated with the label Arkade.
