Kareyce Fotso

Kareyce Fotso is a singer-songwriter from Cameroon. She is from the Bamiléké region and is raised among the Béti people.

Career

She studies chemistry and audio media before returning to singing as her main focus. She begins performing in clubs in Yaoundé and works as a backing vocalist. Her profile rises in Korongo Jam d’Erik Aliana, where her stage presence and voice are noticed.

Solo work

While in France for a residency called Visa pour la création, she works under the artistic direction of François Kokelaere. He has previously managed the National Ensemble of Guinean Percussions and the Guinean band Wofa. This period leads to her solo show, in which she performs as a singer while also playing guitar and percussion.
