Kane Brown
Kane Brown is an American singer from Chattanooga, Tennessee. His family moves around the Chattanooga area when he is young, including Rossville, Fort Oglethorpe and LaFayette in Georgia, before he settles in Red Bank, Tennessee. He is born in 1993.
Early life and education
Brown attends Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, where he sings in the choir with Lauren Alaina. He also attends Red Bank, Ridgeland and Soddy Daisy high schools, and is known as a strong athlete in football, basketball and track. He grows up hearing country music and is encouraged to enter his 11th-grade talent show with Chris Young’s “Gettin’ You Home Tonight”; he wins the competition and decides to pursue a country music career.
Career
Brown uses Facebook and Instagram to share cover versions and original songs, building a large online following through viral videos. In 2014, he crowdfunds his debut EP, Closer. The EP reaches No. 11 and later returns to No. 1 on the iTunes country chart. His single “Used to Love You Sober” follows and reaches No. 1 on the country singles chart and No. 2 overall on iTunes, with later singles “Last Minute Late Night” and “Love That I Hate You” also reaching No. 1 on the iTunes country chart. He then begins his first headline tour.
