Kamp! is a Polish electropop trio made up of Radosław Krzyżanowski, Michał Słodowy and Tomasz Szpaderski. The group debuts in 2009 with the Thales One EP, and its early releases help establish it within Polish electronic music.

Early releases and label history

Kamp! follows Thales One with Breaking A Ghost's Heart, which becomes a notable release in the Polish history of the genre. In 2010, the band issues the double A-side Heats/Distance of the Modern Hearts without a fixed label affiliation, and the release draws attention from international labels.

The first Kamp! release outside Poland appears in 2011 on the Portuguese label Discotexas with Cairo. That release leads to a move in new directions, followed by the band’s debut album Kamp! on its own Brennnessel label. The album combines dream-pop elements with house tracks and sells over 10,000 copies.

Albums and later work

Kamp!’s second album, Orneta, appears in 2015 on Brennnessel. It is described as a dancefloor-oriented record with contemplative and melancholic elements, and the band’s live performances are associated with its more energetic side. In 2014, the group also releases the EP Baltimore on New York-based Cascine, which helps extend its presence in western music markets and allows it to promote material abroad more regularly.

Other releases include the singles Melt, A New Leaf, Turn my back on you and Deny. The band is also working on a third album in 2018.

Style and reach

Kamp!’s music is linked with electropop, indie, electro and electronic music, and its songs attract interest from clubs and festivals in cities including Shanghai, London, Prague and Los Angeles. The group develops a reputation as one of the Polish acts that asserts itself in the wider western music industry.
