Athens sludge/post-metal band

The Athens version of Kalpa is a five-piece loud collective. It is described as playing sludge and post-metal and presents itself as an active band in Greece.

South Korean black metal project

The South Korean Kalpa is a one-man black metal project created by Black Candle, who starts making music in 1996. The project releases the EP The Path of the Eternal Years on Tragic Serenade Records in 2002. It also appears on two compilation tracks, and has two tracks on the Deflower compilation from 1998 alongside Black Syndrome, PHNDOE and L.P.G.

Its black metal style is fast and symphonic, with comparisons drawn to Emperor, Abigor, early Dimmu Borgir, Troll and Covenant.
