Kai Tracid is the stage name of Kai Franz, a German DJ and music producer from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Born in 1972, he also uses the pseudonym Kai Mac Donald.

His work combines trance and acid, and his stage name is formed from those two terms. He is associated with acid techno, acid trance, hard trance, techno and trance.
