Kadebostany
Kadebostany is a pop and electronic group from Genève, Switzerland, active since 2008. The project forms around Kadebostan, who brings together a changing-seeming collective of musicians and performers built around a distinctive visual identity and live presentation. The group includes Amina Cadelli, Jaafar Aggiouri, Ross Butcher, Kadebostan, Jérôme Léonard and Saint Stacy.
Overview
The act develops a blend of pop music with unusual influences, aiming for a singular sound and a strong stage image. Its performances are known for a visual show that accompanies the music. Kadebostany also presents itself with a conceptual identity, referring to a small European republic and its musical wealth and values.
Formation and early activity
Kadebostany begins in 2008, founded on the initiative of Kadebostan, described as the group’s president. Amina, described as an enigmatic diva, is among the musicians brought into the project. The group is based in Genève.
Releases and reception
The group releases its first album in 2011 and then tours internationally, playing more than a hundred live shows around the world. It later works toward a second album titled Pop Collection, with the single “Walking With A Ghost” introduced as part of that period. The project is associated with a repertoire of major songs presented as national hits within its fictionalised Kadebostanian framework.
Style and identity
Kadebostany combines pop, electropop and electronic elements with a theatrical, highly branded presentation. Its image and live format are central to the project, alongside an approach that aims for both artistic credibility and broad appeal.
