K-X-P

K-X-P is a Finnish rock trio made up of Timo Kaukolampi, Tuomo Puranen and Anssi Nykänen. Kaukolampi and Puranen are known for their work in Op:l Bastards, while Nykänen is a session drummer.

The group’s music draws heavily on krautrock from around four decades earlier and also incorporates afrobeat rhythms, cinematic keyboard textures, Middle Eastern melodic elements and a dance-oriented pulse. Kaukolampi sings in his distinctive style, though only in limited amounts, and the group also includes faint breathy vocals from Norwegian pop artist Annie.

Their sound sits at the intersection of electronic, dark electro and experimental music, with a strong krautrock influence.
