June Miller

June Miller is a drum and bass duo from Utrecht. The group consists of ABIS and Bart van Dijk. Their sound is associated with drum and bass and electronic music, with neurofunk among the styles linked to them.

Background

The act forms after Bart van Dijk and Mark McCann work together and play in bands for several years. After McCann moves from the UK to the Netherlands, they begin to focus on drum and bass. They attend parties in Utrecht and become interested in the scene there. They then buy turntables and records and start developing their approach as producers and DJs.

Early development

They are still relatively new to production when they start working in Logic in late 2007. In 2007, they receive a nomination for best up-and-coming act at the DNB Awards. By 2008, they focus heavily on studio work. Their music begins to attract attention from artists they have followed, including Loxy, Instra:mental, dBridge, Spirit, Bailey, Sabre, Gremlinz, Icicle and Nymfo.

Style

June Miller are described as favouring the deeper side of drum and bass and a versatile, rolling dancefloor approach.
