Julia Reidy is an Australian-born, Berlin-based guitarist and composer working with processed and acoustic instruments, especially guitars. Their music uses both solo guitar and electronic processing, and often moves between acoustic texture and manipulated sound.

Recorded work

Reidy’s recorded output includes brace, brace on Slip, In Real Life on Black Truffle, and Vanish on Editions Mego. These releases are described through their form rather than traditional song structures, using unstable harmony, flexible rhythm and abstract narrative across extended, episodic pieces.

Reidy performs at festivals in Europe and elsewhere, including Tectonics Festival in Scotland, Send/Receive Festival in Canada, Mona Foma in Australia, Berlin Jazz Festival in Germany, Angelica Festival in Italy, and Borderline Festival in Greece.
