Juicy

Juicy is a US R&B group active from 1982 to 1987. It is formed by Jerry Barnes, Katreese Barnes and Milton Gerry Barnes, and is identified as an 1980s American R&B act from the United States.

Career

The group is founded by sibling duo Jerry and Katreese Barnes, with other members including Wyatt Staton on guitar and lead vocals, Allison “Ali Bob” Bragdon on tenor saxophone and vocals, and John “Stovepipe” Tucker on drums and vocals. Their best-known single is “Sugar Free”, which reaches number 16 on the Billboard R&B chart in 1986. The group works within R&B, with associated tags including soul, funk, punk rock and melodic.

Katreese Barnes is also known for serving as musical director for the television sketch series Saturday Night Live. The group’s line-up and recordings place it within 1980s US R&B.
