Joy

Joy is an Austrian Europop and pop group from Bad Aussee, Austria, active from 1984 to the present. It is best known as an 1980s italo-disco act, and is associated with the track “Touch by Touch”.

Line-up

The group’s members include Alfred Jaklitsch, Manfred Temmel, Andy Schweitzer, Hans Morawitz, Hannes Ulrich, Johannes Gröbl, Christian Grüber, Andreas Lemmerer, Michael Scheickl and Leo Bei. Andy Schweitzer and Manfred Temmel are part of the band’s long-running line-up history, and Michael Scheickl joins the later membership.

Style and recognition

Joy works in europop and pop, with a sound rooted in 1980s Euro disco. Its name is most closely linked with “Touch by Touch”, which stands as the group’s best-known song.
