Joy Guidry is an American bassoonist and composer from Brooklyn. She first becomes interested in music through exposure to gospel music at church. She is Christian and identifies as queer.

Guidry’s work draws on jazz, ambient, spoken word, experimental and instrumental music. Her 2022 album Radical Acceptance explores her experience of bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. She also releases the album AMEN in 2024.
