Josh Record
Josh Record is a British alternative singer-songwriter from Stroud, Gloucestershire, born in 1987. He moves to London at 16 to study music. His name is Joshua Peter Record.
Early releases and radio support
His first release comes out in 2012 on the independent label National Anthem and reaches number 2 in the UK iTunes Singer Songwriter chart. He follows this with the self-produced EP The War, which receives critical attention. The title track is named Zane Lowe’s “Hottest Record of 2013” on BBC Radio 1 and also receives live play on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music.
Virgin Records and later singles
In 2013 he signs to Virgin Records and releases the EP Bones in late November the same year. That release is playlisted on BBC Radio 1. In March 2014 he re-releases “For Your Love” through Virgin Records, and Zane Lowe names it his “Hottest Record in the World”. The track reaches number 11 in the UK iTunes Alternative chart.
Debut album
His debut album Pillars follows in 2014.
