Jon Fitz

Jon Fitz is a house music producer, DJ, bass player, singer-songwriter and performer. He starts out playing bass guitar in his early teens and develops his sound while immersed in the Madchester house scene. He later moves behind the decks and becomes known as a DJ with a busy schedule of appearances in the UK and internationally.

Career and work

As a performer, Fitz appears at clubs and events including Pacha and Space in Ibiza, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Miss Moneypennys, Creamfields, V Festival and Glastonbury. He also tours internationally with the Bodyrockers as bass player, including a performance at the closing ceremony of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, and contributes to their album as a writer.

Alongside his DJ and instrumental work, he also works as a backing vocalist and singer-songwriter, with a number of A-listed hits among his songs.

Herd & Fitz and other projects

Fitz is one half of the house duo Herd & Fitz. The duo’s track “Just Can’t Get Enough” reaches the UK Top 10 and becomes one of his best-known releases. He also records and performs under related project names including Fitz & Anthony, Fitz & Mikey vs Hitchcock, Fitz & Lazro, and Solo, and he is associated with The Koo Zooz.

Remixes, awards and residencies

His production and remix work includes remixes for Robbie Rivera, Toolroom and Ministry of Sound. He is nominated as Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2006 House Music Awards. In 2007, he holds residencies for Pukka Up in Ibiza and Castle Club in Ayia Napa.

Releases

His catalogue includes the Herd & Fitz track “You’ll See Me”, plus releases such as “Miss Singh”, “Release the Pressure 07”, “Addictions”, “Give a Little Love” and “Top of the World”. He also appears on the compilation Subliminal Sunsets, which receives a positive response.
