John Fullbright

John Fullbright is an American singer-songwriter from Bearden, United States. His music is associated with americana, folk, pop and rock, and he is also linked with folk, alt-country, country and indie.

Career

Fullbright begins playing the piano at the age of five and takes piano lessons from the age of nine. While still in high school, he performs at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, Oklahoma. He is a former member of the Oklahoma Red Dirt bands Turnpike Troubadours and the Mike McClure Band.

In 2009, he releases his first solo album, Live at the Blue Door. His first studio album, From the Ground Up, follows in 2012 and receives a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. He is also described as a Grammy-nominated artist.

Recognition

In 2012, Fullbright wins the ASCAP Foundation Harold Adamson Lyric Award. He is also the subject of two segments on NPR.
