Joel Rafael is a folk singer-songwriter from Chicago, United States, born in 1949. He performs both as a solo artist and with the Joel Rafael Band, and he remains primarily an acoustic performer.

His work is closely associated with folk music and he is strongly identified with the songs and legacy of Woody Guthrie. He is known for performing material in a traditional acoustic setting rather than as a fully electric act.
