Joe Miles

Joe Miles is a British singer and guitarist from Northampton. He performs acoustic material and describes his musical range through pop, rock, blues and jazz influences, with John Mayer, Jamie Cullum and Ed Sheeran among the artists he is drawn to. Born in 1996, he is the grandson of Terry Lightfoot.

Early performance and family background

Miles begins performing on the local open mic circuit, mixing covers with original songs as he develops his style. His family is central to his early public appearances: when he is 14, he performs with his brother Ollie, who plays drums, his mother Melinda, a jazz singer, and his grandfather Terry Lightfoot in Terry Lightfoot’s All Stars at Buxton Opera House. The appearance is presented as a three-generation performance.

Live work and profile

He goes on to play open mic nights in London, then secures bookings as a featured artist at venues in Finsbury, Camden and Brick Lane. His performances also generate a number of YouTube videos, adding to his early profile as a young singer-songwriter.
