Joe Ford
Joe Ford is a British bass music producer from Harrogate, United Kingdom. He works in drum and bass, dubstep, electronic music and neurofunk, and is associated with a hi-tech drum and bass sound that also draws on rock and funk influences.
Career
Ford releases music through Shogun Audio, and has also issued material on Bad Taste, Med School and Calibre Music. His Mission EP reaches number one on the Beatport dubstep chart, and he later achieves a second Beatport number one with The Moment featuring Tasha Baxter, backed with Neon, on Shogun Audio.
One of his early Shogun releases is Stride, which appears on the Way Of The Warrior 2 compilation. He also remixes Datsik’s Hold It Down.
Recognition and support
Ford receives substantial support from UKF, and his first three UKF tracks accumulate nearly one million views. He also supports Noisia’s I Am Legion tour. His work is played by Friction on BBC Radio 1, and Datsik describes him as “the future” in an interview.
Activity
At one stage Ford has a new EP and a debut album in development, alongside a growing DJ schedule. He remains known for an energetic approach to bass music and for helping push a new wave of producers in the scene.
