Jody Wisternoff is a Bristol-born British electronic music producer and DJ, known for work in progressive house, house and deep house. He begins as a teenage hip-hop prodigy, reaching the DMC Hip Hop finals at the age of 13 in 1986.

Early projects

In the early 1990s he is part of Sub Love, an act that becomes one of the biggest draws on the UK rave festival circuit. He later forms a partnership with Bristol DJ Nick Warren in 1994, creating Way Out West.

Way Out West

Way Out West becomes the main focus of his career, with singles including The Gift, Ajare, Mindcircus and Killa. The group also releases major-label albums and goes through a prolific remix period, reworking artists across a wide range of styles. For live performances around the album Dont Look Now, the duo expands into a five-piece band. The group is also listed as one of his current acts, alongside CABALO.

Solo work

Alongside his group work, Wisternoff releases solo material, including nu disco tracks such as Starstrings. His output is characterised by detailed production, with an emphasis on beats, bass lines and layered strings.
