Jody Mckenna
Jody Mckenna emerges from the British Urban Collective youth music project at The Warren in Hull in 2008. Since then, he develops his work through live and recorded sessions and selects material from those sessions for his debut album. His music is described as coming from an honest and humble approach, with words and performance playing a central part in his output.
He secures support slots with Finlay Quaye, One Eskimo, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Nick Harper and Baby Gramps. He also plays The Beverley Festival and Freedom Festival, performing to an audience of 15,000 at the latter.
At this stage he works with double bassist Andy Swift, guitarist Dave Gawthorpe and violinist Nahro Zagros, exploring a different direction and greater depth in his music.
