JKLMNO
JKLMNO is a group from Wrexham, Wales, active since 2007. It is named after a random row of letters in the alphabet and is formed by Carl Harrison on vocals, guitars and keys, Daniel Pierce on synths and percussion, Daniel Kehlenbeck on guitars and vocals, Elliot Knox on bass and vocals, and Nick Roberts on drums and programming.
Career
The band wins a national competition with Supajam.com, which leads to a run of activity in 2008. In that period, it releases a single, has a music video made, and plays at FIB Festival Benicassim 2008 alongside acts including Morrissey and Sigur Rós. After Benicassim, the group appears on several BBC Introducing programmes, including those presented by Huw Stephens, Tom Robinson, BBC Wales and BBC Shropshire.
Style and release history
JKLMNO plays experimental rock with pop sensibilities. Its sound draws on a wide range of influences and is compared with artists including Sigur Rós, Spiritualized and Snow Patrol. The group plans to release its first physical EP, Transitions, and make it available through major download outlets.
