Jinkx Monsoon

Jinkx Monsoon is the stage name of Hera Hoffer, an American drag performer, actor, comedian, and singer. Monsoon comes to international attention after winning the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. She later returns for the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars and is crowned “Queen of All Queens”.

Recording career

Monsoon releases two studio albums: The Inevitable Album in 2014 and The Ginger Snapped in 2018.

Character and influences

Monsoon describes the creation of Jinkx as complex, drawing on several influences. These include the film Death Becomes Her, Lucille Ball, Disney villains, and the experience of her mother as a single parent. She says these influences shape Jinkx’s mix of vanity, humour, power, and resilience.
