Jimmy Edgar is an American conceptual artist and sound designer from Detroit, United States. Working in electronic music and electronica, he is also associated with IDM and experimental styles, and he has released material on Warp Records.

Early work and aliases

Early in his career, Edgar releases two hip-hop glitch albums under the names Michaux and Kristuit Salu and Morris Nightingale. His work is shaped by influences from minimalism, Yves Klein, and immaterialism.

Solo releases

Edgar signs to Warp Records at the age of 18 and releases his first solo album, Color Strip, in 2006. He follows it with XXX on !K7 Records in 2010, and then Majenta in 2012.

Later activity

After Majenta, Edgar releases several EPs on his own imprint, New Reality Now. He often designs his album covers with Pilar Zeta. He is also active as a conceptual and generative artist in the fine art NFT community.
