Jim Legxacy

Jim Legxacy is the recording name of James Folorunso Ifeanyi Olaloye, a British rapper and producer from London, originally from Lewisham in South East London. He starts making music in 2017, building attention through a Mixtape Madness feature and tracks shared on SoundCloud.

Early releases and EPs

His independent debut EP, Dynasty Program: A Metrical Composition Inspired by the Nights Spent As the Raiider, appears in 2019 and gains more than 100,000 plays on Spotify. In December 2021, he releases his second EP, CITADEL, which expands his sound and draws on ideas from his own life as well as films, video games and graphic novels.

Mixtape and singles

From 2023, he releases his debut mixtape homeless nigga pop music, also known as HNPM. Before the mixtape, he puts out four singles in 2022: “eye tell (!)”, “hit it light it twist it”, “candy reign (!)”, and “dj”.

Production work and album

He also co-produces “Sprinter” by Dave and Central Cee, a single that reaches number one in the UK Singles Chart and becomes one of the most significant British rap hits of the period, with record-breaking streaming figures in the UK. In 2025, he releases his first studio album, black british music (2025).

Name and style

He says the name Legxacy came from a feeling that the word legacy sounded empowering and suggested leaving something lasting behind. His work is associated with rap, emo rap, Jerk, hip hop and lowend.
