Jim Campbell is an Essex-born stand-up comedian based in East London. He performs as a bass vocalist, and has been active in comedy for almost three years.

Comedy career

Campbell reaches the finals of several comedy competitions, including So You Think You’re Funny, The Amused Moose Laugh Off, Durex One Night Stand Up and The Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year, where he finishes as runner-up. He performs regularly at clubs and venues including The Comedy Store, The Comedy Cafe, Just the Tonic, Amused Moose Soho, Downstairs at the King’s Head and The Hob.

He also wins the New Act Night at The Comedy Cafe twice, each time with different material.

Festivals and live work

Campbell gigs around the UK for CKP and Mirth Control. He appears at the previous two Edinburgh Fringe festivals and performs over 70 gigs at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe.

Writing and broadcasting

Alongside stand-up, Campbell works as a writer in partnership with Hannah George, who is also a stand-up and writer. He co-presents the podcast The Football Ramble, which regularly reaches the top of the iTunes charts and wins seven awards.

He writes a regular column for the Football Ramble website, scripts video content for the site, and appears on ESPN’s Talk of the Terrace and Sky News. He is nominated for Best Contributor to a Blog or Podcast at the 2010 NOPA Awards.
