Jesus And His Judgemental Father form in October 2010 in Leeds, emerging from the city’s underground queer scene and a shared interest in pop punk. The group gets to know each other through gigs in that scene, including shows by the Delorean Drivers, Fanny DiWanko, Tiny Tin Lady and Amazon Molly. Their sound centres on pop punk hooks and harmonies, and their tags also place them in rock, punk rock, punk and riot grrrl.

Career

After forming, the band plays several gigs in Leeds and builds a local following. In June 2011, they win the first Hyde Park Pub Battle of the Bands tournament. They also play Limetree festival and then spend time working on their debut album, which is released in 2012.
