Jessica

Jessica Sooyeon Jung is an American singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman from San Francisco, California. She is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. She is also the older sister of f(x) member Krystal Jung.

Early life and training

Born on 18 April 1989, Jessica moves to South Korea when she is 11 and trains for seven years before joining Girls' Generation. She debuts with the group in 2007.

Girls' Generation and collaboration work

Jessica is recognised for her stage presence and vocals. In 2009 she releases a duet with Park Myungsoo, “냉면” (“Cold Noodles”), which stays at number one for weeks. She also records two singles with fellow Girls' Generation members Seohyun and Tiffany: “오빠 나빠” (“Bad Oppa”), with RoomMate, and “마비노기 (It's Fantastic!)”. She leaves Girls' Generation in September 2014.

Acting and screen appearances

In 2009 and 2010, Jessica plays the lead role in Legally Blonde: The Musical. She also appears in music videos for SHINee’s “Sherlock•셜록 (Clue + Note)”, Super Junior M’s “Super Girl”, and 김조한’s “사랑이 늦어서 미안해”, and features on 8Eight’s “I Love You”.

Solo releases and later work

Jessica is the CEO of BLANC & ECLARE, a fashion brand that focuses on clear, classic and fashion-forward design. Her solo discography includes the debut EP With Love, J, featuring “Fly” with Fabolous, the EP Wonderland, the EP My Decade, and the singles “One More Christmas” and “Call Me Before You Sleep”, which appears in Korean and Japanese versions, including featured versions with GIRIBOY and CrazyBoy. She also releases Too Serious.
