Jerron Paxton

Jerron Paxton is a US folk singer-songwriter from Chicago. He is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose work draws on folk, blues and jazz, with particular emphasis on pre-World War II styles.

Style and influences

Paxton’s music reflects blues and jazz from the 1920s and 1930s. He is associated with guitar, banjo, piano and violin, among other instruments, and his playing is linked to the earlier blues traditions of artists such as Bessie Smith and Lonnie Johnson. His influences also include Fats Waller and Blind Lemon Jefferson.
