Jeremiah Jae

Jeremiah Jae is a Chicago-based rapper and producer from Jackson Park Highlands, United States. He works in hip hop and is associated with experimental and abstract styles. He is also described as an emcee, producer, healer, and artist.

Career

Jae is signed to Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label. He is part of the group YBP, short for Young Black Preachers, and the Black Jungle Squad Cxllective. He also appears in the listed memberships Holy Smoke, Black Jungle Squad, JP Moregun, Black Caldron, and Protejae.

He is connected to the LA beat scene and meets Flying Lotus online before spending about six months on the West Coast, where he absorbs the label’s sound. He then relocates to Los Angeles to focus on making art-rap there.

Releases

Jae releases the free Dxnce EP in 2009. After several mixtapes and collaborative projects, he issues Rappayamatantra in 2011 as his Brainfeeder debut. His first full-length album, Raw Money Raps, follows in 2012.

He also works with Brainfeeder labelmate Teebs on projects that explore wide-ranging soundscapes.
