Jenny Said Yes is a UK group fronted by Dora Lam. The line-up includes Lam on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and glockenspiel, Ben Todd on guitars and backing vocals, Adrian Barker on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Jane Cocklin on drum kit and percussion.

Formation and style

The band forms in north London, where it first rehearses at Alexander House in Tufnell Park. It starts out as an acoustic act, with Cocklin originally performing on cajon, before adding a drum kit in September 2011 to broaden the sound. Its songs focus on themes including home, belonging, doubt and loneliness, and the group describes its music as resonating with Londoners.

Performances

Jenny Said Yes performs regularly in north London and appears at venues including the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town, Camden Rock, 93 Feet East, Nambucca, Powers Bar, The Black Heart, Proud Galleries, The Slaughtered Lamb, Wenlock and Essex, and the Lock Tavern. The band also plays at numerous festivals.
