Jennie Abrahamson is a Swedish singer-songwriter from Umeå Municipality, Sweden. She works in pop and is associated with a sound that combines synthesizers and drum machines with acoustic guitar, old pianos and cymbals.
Career
Abrahamson has previously been heard in the trip-hop band Heed and the alt-country act Yukon AK. She also performs behind other artists, including Di Leva, Kristoffer Åström, Tomas Andersson Wij and Isolation Years. Her solo debut, Lights, presents a singer-songwriter style that moves away from a conventional acoustic approach toward a broader and more dance-oriented sound.
Style
Her solo work is described through a mixture of electronic and acoustic elements. The result is a pop-oriented sound with a stronger and sharper production character than is usually associated with the singer-songwriter genre.
