Jeffrey Silverstein

Jeffrey Silverstein is a Portland-based musician, special education teacher and writer originally from New Jersey. Before settling in Portland, he works as a community manager for MTV and studies to be a teacher in New York City. He later moves to Portland, Oregon, and records music there under his own name.

Music

Silverstein’s solo work draws on folk, ambient, psychedelic, country and indie elements. His debut solo EP, How On Earth, is an atmospheric folk release built around layered sound and guitar work. Another track associated with this period is “Easy Rider”.

Other projects

Before his solo recordings, Silverstein is one half of Nassau, a bi-coastal duo with Justin Giles-Wilcox. He continues to record as a solo artist alongside his work in education and writing.
