Jazzanova

Jazzanova is a Berlin-based German group active since 1995. It is made up of Alexander Barck, Claas Brieler, Jürgen von Knoblauch, Roskow Kretschmann, Stefan Leisering and Axel Reinemer. The project operates as a crew of DJs and producers and has roots across Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.

Style and output

The group works across acid jazz, jazz, nu jazz, chillout, downtempo and electronic music. Its sound combines breakbeat and electronic production with elements of soul and broken beat, alongside the jazz-oriented styles that define much of its catalogue.

Jazzanova releases material through Sonar Kollektiv and Jazzanova Compost Records (JCR).

Jazzanova has been active in the breakbeat and electronic scene since 1996. The group develops a hybrid approach that brings together club-oriented production and jazz-inflected arrangement, making it associated with both electronic and jazz audiences.
