Jazmin Ghent is a smooth jazz saxophonist from Heidelberg, United States. She shows an interest in music at the age of five, teaches piano in Sunday School by the age of eight, and wins the NAACP ACT-SO Competition at 17. She studies at Berklee on a full scholarship, later receives a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from Tennessee State University.

Ghent wins the Opening Act competition on the Smooth Jazz Cruise in 2014. In 2015, her early recorded material includes the original tracks “Boss”, “Eyo” and “Jazzy”. She is also active as a music teacher in Polk County, Florida, working with elementary students in grades K–5.

Her releases include the Billboard-topping singles “Work Wit It”, “Heat” and “Compared to What”. “Heat” remains on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Airplay chart for more than 20 weeks and receives significant airplay on smooth jazz stations, including Sirius XM Watercolors. In 2017, she is voted Best New Smooth Jazz Artist, and in 2019 she receives an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album for The Story of Jaz.

The Story of Jaz includes collaborations with Phillippe Saisse, Kim Scott, James Lloyd and Jeff Lorber, and is recorded and produced by Ron Jenkins and Euge Groove at The Groove House. Ghent also performs at festivals and venues across the United States, in Europe and on the 2019 Dave Koz Cruise in Australia.
