Jaymay

Jaymay is the performing name of Jamie Seerman, an American folk singer-songwriter from Fishers Island, United States, who is raised on Long Island and born in 1981. Her work is associated with folk, indie, acoustic music and the New York anti-folk scene.

She begins playing open mics in 2003 after being unable to find work in book publishing. Bob Dylan is a major influence on her songwriting, and she is described by the BBC as a “darling of the New York ‘Anti-Folk’ scene” and by the New York Times as a “big name for the indie universe”.

In 2007 she moves to London after signing with Heavenly Records, which is distributed by EMI. Her debut album, Autumn Fallin', is released in Europe by Heavenly Records and in the United States by Blue Note Records. She later releases songs and EPs on her own JaymayMusic label, including Long Walk To Never, Lvng RmEp and ! & !.
