Jay Cunning

Jay Cunning is a UK DJ and producer working across breakbeat and related club styles, including old skool, house, drum and bass and garage. He begins mixing in 1996 and settles on breakbeat as his main focus. Known for an energetic, eclectic approach, he uses three decks in performance and builds sets around party-oriented dance music.

Broadcasts, residencies and touring

He runs a weekly breakbeat show on Kiss FM and holds a residency at Andy C’s Ram night at The End. He is also a resident with In Beats We Trust in St Petersburg, Russia. His performances take him internationally, including dates in Russia, Canada, Spain and New Zealand.

Menu Music

In 2004, Jay Cunning joins forces with Atomic Hooligan to form Menu Music. He acts as label manager and co-owner. The project also includes a podcast with Katkin and a live show built around an expanded “7 Decks and FX” format. Menu Music operates as both a label and a party concept.

Production work

His discography includes a remix of Atomic Hooligan’s “Who Stole Monkeys Clothes” with POD, “Never Stop” with Smithmonger, “Bad Man” and “Bad Girls” with OneSinner, and “The Situation” as Just Pure Rhythm. He also has production collaborations with artists from the scenes he visits internationally.
