The breakout moment for Jasper James came almost a year after the release (Nov 2008, Crispin Thump) of her solo debut album 'Viibrator' when the opening song "It's On" was picked up by Kia Motors for a national commercial sponsoring the NBA 2009/2010 season.
Born in Las Vegas and transposed to New York city, this CMJ/SXSW alumni has opened for musical icons such as Debbie Harry, Electro-Pop Goddess Peaches, DJ Johnny Juice of Public Enemy as well as Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl).
Ms. James also appeared in 'Hedwig & the Angry Inch' director John Cameron Mitchell's underground film sensation "Shortbus" that included her song "This House" on the Soundtrack that was reviewed as a major highlight on the album.
Her first video for the single "ROCKET" (2009, Crispin Thump) that captured the attention of both MTV and Billboard Producers only one month after the songs release was reviewed and exclusively premiered by MTV. That same video was picked up for full distribution by LOGO Television.
Jasper James will be performing at the 2009 OUTmusic Awards this December in New York at which she is nominated in 3 categories.
