Jarle Bernhoft
Jarle Bernhoft is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Nittedal, Norway. He is known for work across soul, funk, pop, R&B, dance-pop and indie pop, and he also performs under the name Bernhoft.
Career
Bernhoft co-founds and sings lead vocals in the rock band Span in 1999. The group gains success in Norway and internationally before splitting in 2005. After that, he moves into a solo career and shifts away from Span’s rock style towards funk and soul.
His first solo studio album, Ceramik City Chronicles, comes out in 2008 and reaches number 4 on the Norwegian album chart. In 2010 he releases 1: Man 2: Band, a double live album that combines a solo set with two performances featuring a backing band. In 2011 he releases Solidarity Breaks under the name Bernhoft, the alias he continues to use.
