Jamie Morgan
Jamie Morgan is a British figure associated with fashion, music and visual styling. He works with Cameron McVey in Morgan McVey, a mid-1980s pop duo that brings together backgrounds in fashion photography, video direction and modelling.
Buffalo
Morgan is also known for his influence as part of Buffalo, a styling team whose streetwise look becomes a recognisable feature of style magazines during the period. The group releases a single, Looking Good Diving, on Sony Records in 1986. The record is produced by Stock Aitken Waterman and mixed by Phil Harding.
The single’s B-side, Looking Good Diving (with the Wild Bunch), features Neneh Cherry and serves as a tribute to the buffalo stance. That track is later rerecorded by Cherry as Buffalo Stance, which reaches number 3 in the UK and the Top 10 in several countries in 1988.
Solo work
Under the name Jamie J. Morgan, he also releases a solo single through Sony: a cover of Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side. That version peaks at number 23 in Australia in April 1990.
