James Vickery is a UK singer from South London whose music sits in alternative R&B, contemporary R&B, R&B and soul, with a background that also includes funk and pop. He starts out in the early 2010s as a folksy singer-songwriter, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and performing soul-influenced material.

Early career and television competitions

His early profile comes through television music competition shows, including The X Factor and Open Mic UK. Performances on these shows lead to new contacts and later collaborations.

Collaborations and releases

Vickery works with guitarist Phil Braithwaite and vocalist Lance Ellington. A notable collaboration comes in 2015 when Disclosure use his vocals on the track “Flow”. He also continues to work with established names in the following period.

In 2017 he releases his debut EP, Complexion, followed in 2018 by a second EP, Until Morning.
