James Newman
James Newman is an English singer-songwriter from Settle, United Kingdom, based in London. Born in 1985 as James Richard Newman, he is the brother of pop musician John Newman.
His writing credits include Waiting All Night, which wins the Brit Award for British Single of the Year at the 2014 Brit Awards. He also appears as a solo performer in the Eurovision Song Contest, first with the cancelled 2020 entry My Last Breath, then with Embers for the 2021 contest, where he finishes in 26th and last place in the grand final with nul points.
Newman describes his music as being heavily influenced by Detroit soul and Tamla-Motown, with a modern twist.
