James Hersey

James Hersey is a solo project and band led by a guitarist, songwriter, producer and vocalist from Wien, Austria. Born in 1988, he launches the project in Vienna in 2010, where half of his family is based. His work sits in indie pop and singer-songwriter territory, with a strong pop sensibility and soulful vocals.

Career

Hersey writes, produces and performs his own material. After starting the project in Vienna, he gains support from alternative outlets and mainstream media. He also plays sold-out shows in his hometown and appears in support slots with other artists. Among the collaborations noted for him are Train, Left Boy and Manu Delago.

Releases and recognition

His releases include the James Hersey EP, Stand Up For You, It Ain’t Over, All I Want, Forever Yours and the mixtape TWELVE. The mixtape brings him an Artist of the Month title at Radio FM4. Another single, “Don’t Say Maybe”, reaches the top five of the charts.
