James Frost is a Welsh guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist, best known for his work with The Automatic and Effort. He is from Cowbridge, United Kingdom, and is born in 1986.

Career

Frost begins playing guitar at a young age. He introduces bandmate Robin Hawkins to music and the bass guitar, and the two form White Rabbit with friend Iwan Griffiths. That group later develops into The Automatic when Alex Pennie joins.

He is a member of The Automatic from 2002 onwards. After Pennie leaves in 2007, Frost is one of the band’s two guitarists, and he shares keyboard and synthesizer duties with Paul Mullen during live performances. He also provides backing vocals across the first Automatic album, Not Accepted Anywhere.

Frost plays guitar, vocals and synthesizers. In NME’s 2006 Cool Awards, he is placed number 20 in the list. During a GMTV performance by the band, he accidentally injures a cameraman while he and Alex Pennie are smashing their equipment.
