Jake Houlsby

Jake Houlsby is a British singer-songwriter from Newcastle in the United Kingdom. He first releases material under the name Suntrapp before recording under his own name.

His work sits within folk and indie, with blues also listed among his associated styles. He receives national radio play on BBC 6 Music through Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson, and he gains blog coverage from The 405, For Folk’s Sake and The Mad Mackerel.

In 2013, he receives the Alan Hull Award for Songwriting. He is also selected for the Roundhouse 3030 Project, which leads to a performance at the Roundhouse Rising Festival.

Houlsby builds his reputation on the live circuit and returns with the six-track EP Yannina. The release includes the title track “Yannina” as well as “Fuel For The Fire” and “Beyond All This”.
